Robert Prince Speaks at COMTO Jacksonville, FL

COMTO Jacksonville hosted a breakfast with Professional Development Guest Speaker Robert Prince on February 10, 2016. Mr. Prince inspired the a room full of members and supporters to be prepared for change, to document their story to share with the next generation, and to expect COMTO to evolve with the industry. Robert Prince is the previous Board Chairman for COMTO National and was the first African American General Manager of Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. As the MBTA General Manager, Robert spent over 25 years holding over 20 jobs culminating as the General Manager. As GM he provided the daily operations and administrative leadership for the MBTA. He was responsible for the establishment of all management policies and practices, and set standards of excellence to which all operations, compliance and administrative functions perform. He oversaw the management of over 6,500 employees, and transported over a million commuters each day. He is also author of "Everyman: Foot Prince in the Snow." In keeping with the mission, the Jacksonville Chapter provided a high quality professional development opportunity for over 45 members and guest. The breakfast was emceed by COMTOJAX Chapter President Endya Freeman. Robert Prince was formally introduced by Jacksonville Transportation Authority CEO, Nathaniel P. Ford. Proceeds from the event were donated to the National COMTO Scholarship Fund in his honor.
