Ruben Landa is a native Texan who is the Vice President of K Strategies Group, a Texas based Public Affairs firm specializing in Diversity, Public Engagement and Public Relations Program Management in the construction and transportation industry.
Ruben offers 17 years in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry, specifically with disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned business enterprise (D/M/WBE) program management, public involvement and public relations experience gained from work on major transportation projects across the country. His professional career includes extensive experience developing and managing D/M/WBE and public involvement programs on many high profile public transportation projects in Phoenix, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Ruben maintains an in-depth understanding of public administration, working with communities, and political and governmental institution factors that can effect decision making on major public projects, allowing him to develop programs using a strategic approach that produces positive results for the client. His extensive experience in public involvement and diversity program development has ensured that his clients have achieved the D/M/WBE goals on major capital programs in the transit, aviation and heavy highway industry.
Ruben has been a member of COMO since 2000 and has been an active member and officer for the Houston, Phoenix and North Texas chapters. He has been a speaker at the Atlanta (2005), Austin (2006), Denver (2012) and Dallas (2016) conferences. He also held the position of Chairman for the 2013 COMTO Southwest Regional Transportation Conference in Irving, Texas and the 2016 COMTO National Meeting and Training Conference in North Texas.
