CITY Internship Application

Applications must be submitted online, and must include all required documents (listed below). 


Applicants may apply for no more than 2 internship locations. Each application must be submitted individually and must include all required documents to be considered (ie. "see previous application" will not be accepted).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Resume Attach a 1-page resume that outlines your work experience and any related experience or training in transportation. Your resume must also list your educational background (including any honors or other recognition) and any volunteer work or experience. If you do not have a resume, check with your campus career center for support.

 

Essay Attach a 1- to 2-page essay introducing yourself and describing, in detail, how your participation in the CITY Internship Program will enhance your educational and career goals. Your essay must include your specific transportation interests and goals, and it must describe the skills, knowledge, experience, and level of interest that you will bring to your internship. Applicants with no academic or work experience related to transportation must explain how their experience does, or can, relate to transportation. Essays must be typed, double-spaced, in 12-point font, and must be no more than 2 pages. This essay will also be used as a writing sample for your application.

 

Transcripts Attach a copy of your most recent academic transcripts. An unofficial transcript will be accepted; however, accepted students may be required to submit an official transcript prior to orientation.

 

Recommendation One written recommendation from your academic advisor, department chair, or a professor in your academic major, is required. You may submit no more than 2 recommendations. Recommendations may be submitted using one of the following 2 options:


  1. Recommender will complete the recommendation form and return it to the Applicant to upload with their online application.
  2. Recommender may email a letter of recommendation from their university email address directly to cityinterns@comto.org. This must be received by the application deadline. Applicant must upload a document explaining that Recommender will submit a recommendation privately.
