Every year KCATA hosts various events in celebration of Black History Month. This year, COMTO Kansas City and SE3 LLC partnered together to co-sponsored KCATA’s Black History Luncheon on February 28th. This luncheon fed over 200+ people at the KCATA offices. This celebration honors various people of color in the transportation industry who have made major contributions to transportation.
The keynote speaker for the luncheon was Wayne Hubbard who is the Co-Founder of Urban American Productions. Wayne is the host and producer of the award-winning program “Urban American Outdoors,” which is the first multicultural outdoors television show in the USA, which has been on air weekly since 2003. This luncheon was one of the various events that KCATA hosted during Black History Month. COMTO KC and SE3 LLC were happy to support this event and look forward to sponsoring future events honoring the contributions of people of color to the transportation industry.
Founded in 1971 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC, the Conference Of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) was created to provide a forum for minority professionals in the transportation industry.
