Message from the President & CEO

Welcome to the Conference Of Minority Transportation Officials' (COMTO) website! We are pleased to launch a new, National website - the last phase of our rebranding campaign. This campaign is the culmination of a national initiative to create a brand that will be immediately recognizable and communicate the growth and strategic vision of the organization.

Thirty-seven (37) years ago, the founders (Reverend Jerry Moore and Harold B. Williams) recognized the incongruity that existed in the transportation industry - a rapidly expanding industry where its minority workers, upon whose shoulders the industry was built, were not allowed the same access to employment, promotion and contract opportunities. COMTO has continued to evolve to become the premier organization for the training, education and professional development of minority transportation professionals. From the advancement of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), legislative initiatives, scholarship and program opportunities, our scope is varied and far reaching, ensuring a level playing field and maximum participation in the transportation industry for minority individuals, businesses and communities of color. It is only fitting that COMTO's rebranding focus on the message of Moving the Nation.

As long as inequality exists in the transportation industry, COMTO will continue to fight for "our place at the table". We must, as Moving the Nation is indeed what the members and thirty-eight (38) nationwide chapters of COMTO do on a daily basis.

We are pleased to have you join COMTO in the next phase of our journey...
