On March 5, 2009, Patton Boggs, LLC hosted the COMTO Transportation Summit: A Ready To Go And Sustainable Workforce. Donna Brazile, noted political strategist, delivered the keynote address "The National Landscape - Putting People To Work." Other industry stakeholder organizations that participated in the summit included the Amalgamated Transit Union, American Public Transit Association, American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials, American Road & Transportation Builders Association and the Women's Transportation Seminar. Rodney E. Slater, former Secretary of the U.S. DOT served as the official host of the Summit . COMTO plans to issue proceedings from the Summit.
